Past tours have included; maritime highlights of the East Coast of America; tours of Amsterdam including a tour of the newly refurbished Rijksmuseum; a trip to the arctic following in the footsteps of some of the great explorers; and a tour of the classical art and architecture of Venice and the Veneto; and in 2018 a private tour of Lisbon with highlights including curator led visits to the Maritime Museum and Gulbenkian Foundation and a private evening visit to the Fronteira Palace and gardens.
Rescheduled to 2021 - Patrons International Tour: Vienna
Few other cities can rival the cultural gem of Vienna for its breadth of art and history and its vast themes mirror the diverse subjects explored through the collection at Royal Museums Greenwich. The Austrian capital has established itself as a major cultural destination, with a successful blend of imperial tradition and contemporary creativity, Vienna is brimming with highlights to suit all tastes. The theme of navigation is well-established in Vienna and guests will explore this theme in depth; going behind the scenes at the cartographic collection at the State Library, the Clock Museum, and the Globe Museum - whose collections are as extensive as the ones at Greenwich. Patrons will receive a curator led tour of the ‘Austria as a Naval Power’ exhibition at the Museum of Military History and explore the stars at the Kuffner Observatory. Evenings too, will be full of culture as guests will visit the Kunsthistoriches Museum and Albertina after-hours, for tailor-made visits. For more details please contact Patrons@rmg.co.uk.
